Although I enjoyed the book, I think it was for younger people, (I'm the other side of 50). Yes, I did enjoy it, but there were aspects that were rather immature for me, ie, the young love aspect, the book's 'storybook' feel.

I enjoyed the book in-depth. Again, the plot and characters are intriguing, and I will definitely pick the next book.

I'm definitely excited to read the next book! I really enjoyed this first book and I actually liked that no character was safe. It's more realistic and believable for me.

I think I'm most curious about what's going to happen with the princess. She's seems like one who's not easily deterred and so I can't see her ever giving up on her hatred for the S'orne.
But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” - ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19:26‬ ‭ESV‬‬

I believe that anybody who connected with the characters in Book I will certainly want to read Book II. Ramirez did a great job connecting us emotionally to the main characters. Further, it was his debut novel. We will surely see an improvement in the quality of his writing with Book II. Whether the storyline of Book II will excite or dissapoint is unknown. That's why I recommend reading the second book if you liked the first.

For the most part I loved this book. I enjoyed the writing style, descriptions, and depth. The reveal about who the S'orne really are though actually put a damper on my excitement to read the next one.

I would love to read the next part! I have a thing though for wanting print copies of the books I've read and really enjoyed, so I guess I need to buy The Great Migration in print first, then get the sequel lol. I'm excited for it, but it could take a while. I must say though, I was a bit surprised by the end, and the abrupt jump from the S'orne migration in the Crystal City to Bellona and Keldiari arriving safe in Thunder Valley. I figured it would end after the bloody migration and then the second book would pick up with the journey back to Thunder Valley.

It sounds like most readers want to read the second book in this series. That speaks volumes to how great this first book is. The author did a great job with world-building and getting the audience attached to the characters so they want to know what happens next.

I really liked the first book, and I am looking forward to the second book. I am excited to see more of the journey through the valley to the village at its center. I am hoping for some more fast-paced survival situations.
