I enjoyed reading this well-written and informative book 5 out of 5 stars. I never realized how much I take my freedoms as an American citizen for granted. This was an eye-opener for me. I think anyone who wants to understand different cultures should read this book.

I rate the book five out of five stars. I like how the author brings the immigration experiences to life and shares in his joys and sorrows. I also liked the aspect of freedom of religion as portrayed in the book.

The book received a perfect rating from me. I found it inspiring. The author's story is lesson-filled and motivational and I found his reactions to some cultural shocks humourous. There was nothing to dislike about the book.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. In my opinion this book motivates people to let go the restrictions that stoping them in achieving their goals and step into the world with free and open mind, and to accept the change.

Chasing freedom was one of its persistent theme and would force one to think about what it actually means, especially taking into account of the environment. Aside from that I found it just predictable and not that good. So three stars from me.
‘When you do a good deed, people are grateful, and that creates a nice feeling inside you; and then because it feels good, that makes you want to do more good deeds. That repetition is the cycle of goodness.’

The greatest lesson from "Beyond the Golden Door: Seeing the American Dream Through an Immigrant's Eyes" by Ali Master is the profound appreciation and understanding of the freedoms available in America, especially when contrasted with the limitations experienced in other parts of the world. Through his personal journey from Pakistan to the United States, Master discovers and reflects on five transformational freedoms: the freedom to fail and start over, to love, to choose one's faith, to be an entrepreneur, and to self-govern.

I like as the book tend to end the mindset of people that want to travel to America. Most times immigrants think that the U.S is a bad country and doesn't accept other folks. It shows that the U.S doesn't discriminate and it is a home for all.

I liked reading this book a lot. The author has an endearing tone; his views and experiences are beautifully written and even amusing in some instances. This is a great book to learn more about an immigrant's perspective on moving from Pakistan to the US. Overall, a pretty solid memoir.
