I found Lea the most relatable character in "Sandpeople" by Cheryl Kerr. I finished reading the book today, and it brought back many childhood memories. My mom and dad were separated when I was 10 (I am now 67). I didn't get shipped off to an Aunt but to my first foster home. I remember the extreme loneliness I experienced there and how I would escape into books. I belonged to a monthly club where you could buy books from a catalog that were age-suitable. "Sandpeople" would be the kind of book I would have purchased. I would be engrossed in Lea's character because of my life experience wrestling with loneliness and allowing my imagination to escape into the worlds of my books.

It is Lea for me. Her curiosity as a child is so relatable. Most children her age will behave the way she behaves.

I really values finding friendship in unexpected places or enjoys characters who are different from themselves, I find Lea's classmate more relatable. This character represents the power of unlikely friendships and the importance of embracing differences.

I found Aunt Meg to be very relatable as I underwent similar growth in learning how to listen to people and encourage them .

Lea was the most relatable character to me, as the book provides a unique opportunity to dive into her thoughts and experiences through her perspective, allowing us to understand her motivations and emotions intimately.
