"Sandpeople" by Cheryl Kerr has a much broader depth than just being a mystery book. It is about how children cope with their parents' divorce. It is about how to overcome a feeling of abandonment and develop one's self-worth and confidence. It is about maturing from childhood into adolescence. It is about how a community can come together to help each other. There is a wealth of topics that can be explored in this book beyond just the mystery.

Beyond the mystery, we could see how Lea navigates childhood. Most children will learn great lessons from her development. Aunt Meg's love for children is another aspect of this book that showcases the ability of humans to care.

Yes, especially through the arc of the protagonist. The book delves into the personal growth and emotional journey of its young protagonist, Lea McKinney. As she deals with her parents' separation, Lea navigates complex feelings and matures through her experiences. This added a layer of emotional depth that resonates with me, and I think it will too to those who have faced similar life challenges
