I think the background color and needle are appropriate for the theme of the book. Maybe because the title and the subtitles are long, it feels like the needle not given the vibe it should give to the cover.

It's possible that replacing the needle with something else that better suits the cover could be a good idea. In your opinion, how about it?

I'm usually one who likes lots of colors in covers, bright or intricate patterns. Yet there is something ominous about this cover that I think pairs very well with the topic at hand. Grain and dark, the main focus being the broken syringe.

Most times, I'm moved by fancy book cover but this particular book cover has a way it tricked me to liking it. Hence, it's great and I love it.

I liked the simplicity of the cover given the grave theme. The broken needle is the metaphor for the ineffective vaccine and the color palette chosen is appropriate. The title and the subtitle fonts could have been better though. Overall, I found the cover to be appropriate.

I'm uncertain whether the choice was intentional or a budgetary constraint, but the cover page appears to be of low quality for a book. If it weren't in black, it might be mistaken for a research article or something similar, rather than a book. However, if the author intended to convey a somber, dark mood and hint at the dark realities within the book, then this cover page might be suitable for that purpose.

To be completely honest, I am not a fan of the cover. It seems extremely simple and if I were to see this book in a book store I would probably look right past it. I usually seek out book covers that appear to be original or eye catching and this does not quite fit that.

I find the book cover fitting for the title and theme. As a fan of dark-themed books, the black cover aligns well with my preferences. Initially, I wasn't aware that the image depicted a crooked needle. However, upon learning its significance, I now believe it is an ideal representation for the book.

Since the book seems to be alerting readers about something unsafe or dangerous, it would be more appropriate to choose a color that draws attention.  The cover will stand out more if it uses the color red, which is connected to warning signs. The illustration of a syringe with a broken needle fits the book's theme perfectly.  The font color could be chosen so that it stands out from the background.  Red could be used for the typography and visuals if the background remains black. Similarly, black might be used for the typography and visuals if the background is all red.  A strong contrast that results from using just two colors can increase the visual impact.
