Are there any holidays you observe this month? (May '24)

Post by Heidi M Simone »

It seems that every month, there is something to either celebrate or remember. Are there any holidays you celebrate or any days that you observe this month (May)? Are there any traditions that you share with family/friends/yourself on or leading up to these days?

In South Africa on the 1st of May we celebrated our workers day. It is always a great deal for us to spend such days with family members but we are slowly growing out of such cultures and that's sad.

Workers’ Day sounds like a good holiday to celebrate, but I’m sorry to hear that those types of days are becoming less frequent. Maybe you can keep it going with your family!

Mother’s Day is the main one we celebrate here. Since I’m a mama of 2 little ones, I try to appreciate this day as much as I can. We usually do a Mother’s Day breakfast with some family and flower shopping at the same flower shop every year. Then, we have a dinner with more family later on in the day. 💐
