Did the book offer enough clues to help you guess what might have happened to Freddie? Why or why not?

Yes, I was happy with the clues given. It was just challenging enough without it being too difficult. There were some scenes that surprised me, such as the reason for the meeting in the sketchy part of town, but for the most part, things went how I expected them to.

The lack of a clear solution could be intentional because it shows the real-life uncertainties and complexities of such a search. The suspense in just kept me guess, but clues coming together didn't stick.

Yes, I think the clues were there for us to figure it out along with Richard. We got the information along with him and some of the information we got eventually made it pretty obvious to everyone where Freddie was. The question was if he was alive and what shape he was in.

The clues were good throughout the story. I still thought he was going to be found dead so I was definitely surprised that he was discovered alive and was able to be recovered

We walked along with Spradlin and learned information as he did. I wouldn't say they were clues dropped for readers as much as pieces of information coming together.

I really appreciated the progressive nature of the book and how it continually revealed clues along the way. Early on, it was challenging to understand what had happened, but by about halfway through, I developed a general idea. As I approached the last quarter of the book, I felt more confident in my understanding.
