I just finished reading Apples Never Fallby Liane Moriarty. The genre was a mix of contemporary fiction and mystery. I do read some contemporary fiction and I like mysteries. Plus, I have read other books by the same author and have enjoyed them. Therefore, yes, this is a genre that I would typically choose to read.

I chose this book for two reasons:
1) I received a copy of it and have been wanting to read for a while.
2) My best friend and I have been reading books together for years, (a small, flexible book club) and Apples Never Fall is one that she has been interested in reading as well.

This book is definitely geared toward the adult audience. Young adults would understand the material, but not sure if they would be interested in the way the story is presented.

I'm giving it 3 out of 5 stars. Unfortunately, the book was not well presented in my opinion. The beginning half was extremely slow and barely had any plot movement. The second half was more fast-paced, but the ending is just ridiculous. I honestly felt this was a book that her publisher rushed her into finishing and no one did a thorough job in making this an interesting and well-constructed story. Pretty sure I'll be taking a break from reading another book from Liane Moriarty...

@Heidi M Simone Thank you for sharing this review. I have been meaning to read Liane Moriarty for the longest time. Her "Big Little Lies" catches my eye most often at the bookstore. What book of hers would you recommend I start with?

Sorry, I somehow missed your question!

I would definitely start with Big Little Lies. I enjoyed that very much, and even enjoyed watching the show after I read the book!

In case you were wondering, you don't need to read Apples Never Fall.
