Sister Rosalie stands out. She adds some vibrancy to the story.

Sister Rosalie was my favorite character. She has a sweet dispostion and Southern charm. Being kind to children seems to be second nature to her. Her personality is larger than life and she's courageous.

Sister Rosalie that is for sure! A loving mother to the motherless, a history teacher to the younglings and a force to be reckoned with! I loved how she always made it a point to get her way despite most people’s dislike of that trait. I think she played a very big role in teaching Vanessa to have a tight hold on her own crown. Lastly the lovely bubbly and selfless Trisha, who always went out of he way to fight for the voiceless.

Barry's father, Dr. William Hale, is my favorite character. I enjoyed his unconventional opinions and the manner in which he expresses them. They provoke thought and have an impact. They compel you to reconsider how you view things.

I found Vanessa to be a particularly compelling character. Her journey of self-discovery and resilience in the face of adversity is inspiring. She navigates complex social issues with grace and determination, making her a relatable and admirable protagonist.

I didn't really love any of the characters, but I guess I'd say it was Trisha. I really liked her boldness and her openness towards men, especially for that time. She was an amazing and loyal friend despite everything. She was very authentic, free-spirited, feisty, and straight-forward. I loved how she and Vanessa remained best friends.

My favorite character is Vanessa. I think she drives the plot in the direction of sympathetic element of the story, which also makes it engaging.

I really like Sister Rosalie. I found her random history facts and tangents funny and quirky. She was the most real character to me.

With what I have read so far, I think Vanessa is my favorite character, and I think it is hard not to fall in love with her character if you start reading the book. Also,  I would consider Trisha too, but I'm still trying to figure her out.

My heart goes for Sister Rosalie. The extraordinary love she gave Vanessa from the moment she laid her eyes on her. She even gave up her career to be her Mom and left her an inheritance. That is an unbelievable display of love.

It has to be Trisha; she is a wonderful woman who, as a white girl, could have gone the easy route and married and started a family. Though everyone around her opposed it, her tenacity and drive drove her to take the difficult path and find a way to pursue her ambitions.

Sister Rosalie, I love talkers, especially women. I could easily picture her, in her dress, scolding and teaching the kids.

Dr Hale. He was such a good father/person and he really did try to help Vanessa when she found out she was pregnant.
It also didn't hurt that he was witty.

My favorite character was Vanessa. She was a strong, independent, honest person with a pure heart. She went through a lot, sometimes alone, but at least she had Trisha by her side.

I could say that my favorite character was Sister Rosalie, as it was easy to like her. However, I found Trisha to be a better character, as she truly understand the meaning of friendship, even if sometimes that is equivalent to showing some harsh love.
