The cover of the book isn't particularly eye catching, but it does have a nice subtle and peaceful atmosphere that really draws a reader's attention. It's not my favorite as it is a bit too minimalistic for my tastes but it does have a nice atmosphere to it.

As far as I can see the cover accurately reflects what this book is about. The surface of the water is reflective and still, just like glass. We know, though, that under the surface are currents that can cause a seemingly peaceful situation to turn deadly very quickly.

Now that I have examined the book's cover more closely, I feel it is silent and suspenseful. This widens the reader's imagination and expectation of what the book has to offer.

The cover is all about calm and the possibility of deception. The look of the still waters represents nothing better than calmness.

I greatly admire the book cover, as it features a minimalist design that captivates the eye and piques the reader's curiosity. The subtle fusion between the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and elements of a birth certificate creates an intriguing visual composition, echoing the story's central themes. I also appreciated the colors used, as they evoke a sense of serenity.
The masterful use of negative space and simple lines enhances the cover's elegance and serves as a visual metaphor for the secrets and veiled truths that permeate the narrative. The possible allusion to a calm water surface reflecting the bridge reinforces the "deceptive calm" concept in the title.
The cover goes beyond its decorative function. It serves as a silent invitation, urging the reader to plunge into the story's depths. It promises a literary journey filled with revelations and self-discoveries.

The book cover is very beautiful and attractive. I think it gives an accurate pointer to what is obtained in the book. I must say that if not for the beautiful cover page , I would not have considered reading the book in the first place.

The cover of *Deceptive Calm* by Patricia Skipper effectively combines elements that suggest a narrative filled with hidden depths and complex emotions. The overlay of the Golden Gate Bridge with a birth certificate hints at themes of identity, discovery, and perhaps a connection to the past, while the muted color palette gives a sense of mystery and subtle tension. The overall design is clean and elegant, drawing the viewer in to explore the story within.

The central image of the Golden Gate Bridge, an iconic structure, instantly anchors the cover, making it familiar to many. However, the overlay of the birth certificate adds an unexpected layer, suggesting that the story may involve hidden truths, identity, or family secrets.

The choice of a minimalist color palette with predominantly gray tones gives the cover a calm and almost sterile feel, which contrasts sharply with the implications of deception hinted at by the title. This contrast effectively draws the viewer’s attention and invites them to explore the narrative beneath the surface.

The simple design and the pastel colours make a fantastic blend. The birth certificate on the cover is also very intriguing and gives a good glimpse of the book's plot.

I like the image of a birth certificate the book's cover portrays. The writing on the certificate gives me the feeling of it being an 'inscription.' Sister Rosalie's signature on the certificate triggers diverse creative thoughts and ideas within me. The figure of a bridge-like construction pointing to the writing on that certificate is greatly symbolic. The scenery with buildings, trees, and their surroundings in the lower part of the cover gives the book a classic touch.

It showed the span of time from Vanessa's birth, her adoption and rearing by Sister Rosalie to her life in San Francisco.

I think the cover is fine, not too much not too little. I personally wouldn't recommend any differences to be made, I think it either can be changed or it can stay the same, no harm in either.
