Who was your favorite character in Deceptive Calm by Patricia Skipper?

I loved Sister Rosalie.

I don't particularly have an all-time favorite but if I were forced to pick a favorite character, it would be Trisha. What I admired about her is that she was a true friend through and through. What drew my attention to her in particular was the fact that though she had a habit of sleeping around, she was disciplined especially enough to go swimming everyday over the years. This skill becoming the very thing that saves her, her friend Venessa and her child (Brett). I feel I personally resonate with her character development.

The cover is fitting because the bridge represents the span of time from her birth, adoption by Sister Rosalie to her life raised by Catholic nuns to her career in San Francisco. I like Vanessa because of her perseverance in overcoming the tensions of the 60's Civil Rights movement, health issues, heartache and eventually making it big in broadcasting.

Sister Rosalie hands down!

I just finished reading the book. By far, my favorite character was Sister Rosalie. She was bigger than life, and would not let anyone disrespect her. She did not sweat the small stuff. She was completely devoted to God and the orphans under her care. On top of all of that, she was an amazing historian.

Just as it was with most reader, Sister Rosalie was my favourite character.

Sister Rosalie wins this favorite character debate for me. Her love and care for orphans demonstrates her devotion to care for humanity.

She understood was friendship is.

Tricha.
She understood what friendship is. Even though she had an ill character of fornicating around, she has enough discipline to grow her swimming skill.

I loved Sister Rosalie and I was saddened by the fact that I could not get more of her. I looked forward to reading more about her as she was full of surprises.

My favourite characters are Vanessa and Sister Rosalie. Individually, they have create personalities. And their relationship is also superb.

Trisha was my favorite character. I thought she had a spit-fire attitude, especially in her career. Feisty and outspoken, I enjoyed her character and felt I could relate to her the most. I loved how Trisha and Vanessa remained close friends even in adulthood.

Definitely sister Rosalie. Her love for Vanessa was so special and she had so much spunk and knowledge.
