I felt it to be more of a young adults book than a kids book. But reading with an adult, a child will also like the book. So ages from 8 to 15 will all enjoy the book.
Between the pages of a book is the loveliest place to be :techie-studyingbrown: :D

I would say that young adults above the age of 6 will be a great fit for this book. It'll be easier for kids aged 7 and above to relate to the stories.

I definitely feel this book was not written for an audience as young as 5 to 7 year-olds. I have children in this age group and I don't think this book would have been appropriate for them. I would definitely suggest this book to at least ten year-olds and older. The word choices were more complex than that of primary students.

Yes, I believe "Dumb" Orphans: The Bundu Bunch Trilogy is appropriately matched to its intended audience of teenagers. it explores themes of poverty, discrimination, loss, and the importance of education and family, which are highly relevant to the experiences and concerns of teenagers.

I think children aged 5-7 are too young for this book. I think age 10 and upwards would work better.

Based on what I’ve read, the book’s language does seem a bit advanced for 5-7 year olds, despite its simple writing style. While it’s labeled as a children’s book, some word choices may be better suited for slightly older readers.

I believe the reading audience for this book isn't just children of 5-7. It can go way up to tweenage readers (up to 12).

I agree with Nati, 4th grade and up. Around 4th they are learning more about geography and more in-depth social studies. I think the reason for what one said about shorter sentences is because it is being written as if a seven-year-old is talking. What I really would like to see is it being a required reading for Jr. High students so they get to see how other children have had to endure poverty in other countries, and how fortunate they are to have an education.
:eusa-think: Teach a child to read, and they can go anywhere and be anything within the pages of a book.
