Wishes vs. Reality

Post by Amy_Jackson »

I think this book mirrors the thoughts of a lot of us – wanting to run away from our present challenges and create a whole new future for ourselves, based on our desires.
But what we don't know is that when we fight to overcome our present challenges, our best potentials emerge to make us the best of ourselves. If we keep running, we'll never be content and we'll never grow.

What are your thoughts?

I believe what your words are true. When things become hard, as life can surely be, we look for an escape. That is when the wishing manifests itself within us. If we decide to push against the pressure, we do grow. We do begin to live.

A life without challenges is a life not worth living. Having to work hard for things or overcoming life's obstacles are what shapes us as people. It would be great to live in a world of sunshine and rainbows, but what kind of people would we be if there was not any chaos in our lives. No mistakes to learn from? I don't think we would end up being very well rounded individuals. Therefore even though it is harder I would still choose real life. Yes, an escape is good like a book or a movie, that lasts for a little while, but we still need to know how to function in a real society.
