I bought the book after discovering it would be June's BOTM because I found the central concept fascinating. I had a good impression of the book because it went deep into the protagonists' thoughts and reflections during their experiences, both physical and simulated.

The technology at the center of the simulation is still science fiction, so that's the genre. That's used to develop introspection and life reflections, which is the most important part of the book. It taught me that sometimes you have to watch yourself and your life from a different point of view to understand where you're going and if that's the path you want to walk, or need to walk.

Note that the book ends with the phrase "To be continued," which means that you can expect a sequel. Otherwise, I'd recommend the book for the life reflections it contains, and how they can help you with your own reflections.
