Wishes vs. Reality

Post by Amy_Jackson »

I think this book mirrors the thoughts of a lot of us – wanting to run away from our present challenges and create a whole new future for ourselves, based on our desires.
But what we don't know is that when we fight to overcome our present challenges, our best potentials emerge to make us the best of ourselves. If we keep running, we'll never be content and we'll never grow.

What are your thoughts?

I believe what your words are true. When things become hard, as life can surely be, we look for an escape. That is when the wishing manifests itself within us. If we decide to push against the pressure, we do grow. We do begin to live.

A life without challenges is a life not worth living. Having to work hard for things or overcoming life's obstacles are what shapes us as people. It would be great to live in a world of sunshine and rainbows, but what kind of people would we be if there was not any chaos in our lives. No mistakes to learn from? I don't think we would end up being very well rounded individuals. Therefore even though it is harder I would still choose real life. Yes, an escape is good like a book or a movie, that lasts for a little while, but we still need to know how to function in a real society.

Not all challenges make one want to escape or create a different present for oneself. But sometimes there are challenges that make one feel the desire to escape. I cannot judge every person's reaction, because what is simple for me is difficult for others and vice versa. As for me, I like to live in a world of my imagination under the circumstances that I choose.
Life is hard on its own so let's make it easier for each other if we could.

It is about realigning our thoughts and reevaluating our lives. The experience is meant to refresh and prepare us for our lives in the real world. Like a therapy!
In a world where you can be anything, be kind :)

I agree that people are more stressed nowadays than in the past. Because of that, many want to escape from reality, and these simulations are the perfect scenario to do so. However, how are we going to experience life with family and friends if we escape from it?
