I read Ender's Game with a feeling of obligation. It had been referred to me so often that i knew that I must seek out a copy. I opened the first page expecting to read another Hunger Games, an over all good book and subsequent series that has been glorified by the populace. This was not that book. When i read this book I was fascinated by the themes and plot. I adored the fact that a simple populace of people could be controlled more or less by two clever children. The book had a terrific plot made up of clever mind games for the reader and the speaker, Ender. The entire book is heart wrenching and a tear jerking epic that i will be reading again as well as all subsequent books.

Ender's Game is truly a great book. And I'm interested to see how the movie plays out.

I picked this up for my kindle months ago and haven't gotten around to reading it. Guess I will have to... Ditto with "Enchantment" by the same author. Has anyone read that one?

I loved this book when I read it a few years ago. We read it for my freshman English class. I have tried to find it recently to reread the whole series but ,because of the movie i presume, I have had a hard time getting a hold of a copy or set from the library

I can't believe this was a book of the month! This is my absolute all time favorite book in history. I've read Ender's Game multiple times, and am currently on Xenocide. I found out recently that Card continues writing in the series so will be reading them all :)

I am starting this book, although I haven't heard many good things about the movie. The book is supposed to be good and it was on sale so I have bought it and am starting it.

Personally, I think the Shadow series is actually better than Ender's arc. Though it isn't really present in Ender's Game, Bean is such an interesting character, though in a very different way than Ender.

The movie, I thought, was passable. They did a really good job depicting the virtual reality game as well as the battles. And I mean, Asa Butterfield, come on. But, of course, they had to cut a lot of material to get it down to two hours, including Valentine and Peter's subplots (which were my favorite from the book).

I'm glad to hear that. I've been switching arcs, so have just finished the Ender quartet and have read up to Shadow of the Hegemon. I've read Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow 3-4 times over the past 10 years or so and am just reading through the entire series now. I'm totally mindblown

Do you have a favorite individual book?

make sure you read the book first :) In my opinion, doing it the other way around will ruin the magic

The book is way more engaging and magical than the movie I think. The movie fell flat for me a bit but the book left me wanting more and knowing as much as I could about all the different characters. I recommend it to everyont I meet as a great read even if you aren't much of a sci-fi reader.

I love this book! My aunt named my cousin (her son) Ender just because of this book!
