Book or Movie?

I've heard good things about the book, but heard for a while that the movie wasn't nearly as great. I checked out the movie and enjoyed it. I still haven't read the book though lol. I need to do that...

I watched the film first and didn't like it. I ignored the book for a while because the movie killed my interest for it. However, I find that the book is actually entertaining, and way better than the film.

I watched the movie and thought it was better than the story. I found the story a little bit over-descriptive and boring in some parts. Some parts gave me a grand headache but not the movie. It was wonderful and I deeply commend the actors for making it come alive

The book by far was so much better than the movie. The movie just didn't hit the mark that the book did. As always the book is better than film but nonetheless it was cool to see the book-to-film adaptation.

I read the book first and then watched the movie, and I liked the book a lot more. I would say that the movie was an 'okay' adaption. It had the bones, but just no meat that really gave way to flavortown. If you liked the movie and the book, but thought that the movie just wasn't enough, I highly recommend the audio play of Ender's Game, it's amazing.

The graphics and special effects of the movie made it incredible. I did like both the book and the movie for very different reasons, but I must say that I still prefer the book.

I've finally gotten around to seeing the movie and my suspicions were right; as usual, the book was better than the film. The movie wasn't bad, it just couldn't cram everything in a ~2-hour movie. It was nice to see that they didn't waste time by adding much to the story that wasn't in the books. That can be a real problem with book-to-movie translations.

Forget the movie unless you watch it as a stand-alone without any reference to the book. I refused. The book, the entire series, is amazing. I love everything Orson Scott Card writes and Ender is up there with Asimov.

I thoroughly enjoyed both. I know that the book was better but I am a sucker for any movie that depicts space.

As always, the book is SOOO much better. The movie was far too rushed and left out Ender's sisters activities completely. The movie is still enjoyable, but since the book is a rather short read, I'd honestly recommend spending the time reading the book.

The movie is quite good, but it left Peter and Valentine almost completely out of the story, which is a shame considering their importance in the book's sequels and spinoff.

The first book is great. From there, it went downhill to me. A lot of philosophy........but no way to top the first book. If it had been left with just Ender's Game, it would be great. Also, the movie stayed very true to form in following the book which is rare enough. Loved that!!

I agree 100% with Paliden! The first book was excellent - great character and story development; twists and turns no one could predict; and believable character growth. I couldn't put it down! So when I finished it, I tried the next book, but couldn't get past chapter 2.

I agree - the casting was great! I thought the movie was well adapted and easy to follow even for people who hadn't read the books.
