Who was the first author you had to read "everything" by?

Has to be Stephen King. I've since outgrown him, but when I was young, I wanted to have them all, read them all, even the Bachman books. This will betray my age, but I would read each new one as it came out. I did that until the quality went down and I stopped liking the new ones that were coming out. That was the end of Stephen King.

For me, it definitely has to be Rick Riordan! I felt like I grew up with Percy Jackson in each book as it came out (i.e. I was in 5th grade when Book 1 was released and Percy was a 6th grader!), and I distinctly remember going to the bookstore to get the recently-released hardback copy of each successive book for my birthday through high school. I read every single one of his other series focusing on mythologies in the modern day. I will still re-read the original Percy Jackson and the Olympians series every once in a while!

Dean Koontz! I love that he lives locally, and his setting take place all around Southern California. I can really immerse myself in his books because I know all the freeways and frequented places he includes. It is my goal to own physical copies of every book he has written in my personal library, and I am more than halfway there.

Some work colleagues peaked my interest in Nora Roberts. For some time, her books were all I was reading. Now, I have moved on to James Patterson and I am awe struck at his story lines.
