I'm not doing this to argue with baron, but I was going to say anyway that I would avoid "Phantoms." It's the only book of his I've read, and it's probably the reason I haven't gotten around to reading a second yet. I found it very anticlimactic, I was very disappointed; the first half was so good! But that's just me.

Winter moon was the first of his I read and got me hooked. Phantoms,
Sole Survivor and Shattered (the only book I have had to flip the pages ahead to ensure the outcome of the character before i could keep reading) are must reads.
I love the how he describes with the concept of Evil in Phantoms.
