Becoming Human: Just saying you're human doesn't do it
About the book: In Becoming Human “Human” is not used to simply mean a Homo sapient, but to meet criteria distinct from that found in animals—namely the genetic potential to care for the welfare of others beyond the potential of animals. This potential has been evolving over thousands of years, slowly transitioning our species out of animal nature. However, most of us are still genetically programmed to interact (feel, think, behave, etc.) as “Animal beings” with only the limited caring inherited from animal nature. “Humans beings” actually care for the welfare of our species, globally. Animal beings can only verbalize some caring for others during Christmas, Hanukkah, Ramadan, and other holy days.
The book explains that our species is a “transitional” species emerging out of animal evolution--. This is why only some members of our species can interact as Human beings. The book is meant to trigger a social-awareness movement of our species’ genetic animalness and its evolving humanness. Your help in making the transitional status of our species known to others is appreciated.
