She was such an incredible author. I'm still saddened by her passing. My GIL lived in the same town and was actually able to get a signed copy of To Kill A Mockingbird before she stopped signing her books. Even if you visit Monroeville today, you can tell how besotted everyone was with her.

It's funny that I should happen across this forum topic of discussion. My husband just recently finished up an online class in which one of the required readings was "To Kill a Mockingbird". I read this book back when our daughter was just starting Kindergarten and while it was a slow read, it was still very enjoyable. I love the classics. I collect the classics and this book is definitely in my collection as we speak.
I didn't realize Harper Lee had passed away though. So sad

To Kill a Mockingbird was the first "required reading" book from high school that I loved. I'll never forget that I thought scout was a boy up until page 21 or so. I did Read Go Set a Watchman recently and enjoyed it, but not nearly as much as her classic.

I did read To Kill a Mockingbird, but have not read the sequel. She was a great author and will be missed.

I would encourage you NOT to read the sequel. If you loved To Kill A Mockingbird you will probably be disappointed for several reasons, as I was.

I have both TKAMB and Watchmen. I loved both, its sad that such a great writer passed away.

To Kill a Mockingbird was a live changing book for me. I read for school when I was in seventh grade. It is one of my absolute favorite books to this day. RIP to a legend.
