Living author I would say Edna O'Brien as besides loving her books I've heard her interviewed and she has a most beguiling voice ... I could listen to her all day no problem.
If I can include the deceased I would choose Henry James and of course Jane Austin ... If I could have the 3 to lunch wow that would be heaven

I'd die to get some one-on-one time with Neil Gaiman. He's one of my favourite authors and I've had the opportunity to hear him speak a couple of times. What a fascinating, nice guy!

I'd be asking him DUDE! where do those ideas come from??

I wouldn't be able to think of anything good enough. I'm not worthy :D
Hahaha, agreed! That would just be far too intense.

I'd probably go for Edith Wharton, Jane Austen, and George Orwell.

As for the living, I think it'd be really interesting to chat with Daniel Keyes (author of "Flowers for Algernon"). Even though I'm pretty sure that's his only book, I'd still be really intrigued to ask him about it.

Ben Kane. I'm just finishing one of his books, the Forgotten Legion. I'll bet he is really good natured with a wry sense of humour.
