Having a daughter that is a "young adult" reader in my house, she often hands her books over to me insisting that I read her latest great find! I'm far from a "young adult" but still thoroughly enjoy many of the books she passes on to me!

Laurel McDaniel writes young adult books that are sometimes difficult (in topic) to read but interesting.
Also, I love Laura Ingalls Wilder and all of her books.

I love young adult books!!

I'm a huge fan of Sarah Dessen! Her books make is so easy to fall in love with the characters and become a part of their world. I laughed with them and cried of course. Every one of her books are equally amazing!!

Personally, I believe young adult books are packed with the full genre of the book and more. It isn't too wordy as adult books and isn't too childish.

Veronica Roth wrote the divergent series. She has written a bestselling series. Her writing skills aren't comparable!

My favorite young adult authors are Maggie Steifvater, Cassandra Clare, Richelle Mead (although she has a few adult series as well and I think they are pretty great too), and Suzanne Collins.
Love Cassandra Clare, Richelle Mead and Suzanne Collins, they are all pretty amazing authors. Gonna have to check out Maggie Steifvater. I haven't heard of her, but if she is like the other three I bet I'll love her.

I love reading books off of a website called Wattpad. It's where anyone can post there books or poems and most authors there are young. I myself have posted books on there and most of my favorite books are from that website. Young authors are great! Don't ignore there works just because they are young.

I love young adult books when I need a break from heavier reading. The stories are usually so fun! My current favorite is Brent Weeks. I teach alternative high school and two of my students recommended him to me. We are all waiting for the third book in his Lightbringer series and I recommend him to other students with similar tastes.

I love YA! Right now my favorite YA authors are ...(in no particular order)
Marissa Meyer (loved the Lunar Chronicles)
Rick Yancey ( The 5th wave has to be my favorite YA novel)
Markus Zusak (The Book Thief was amazing)
Veronica Roth (loved the first 2 books in The Divergent series, didn't care for the 3rd)
Alexandra Bracken ( The Darkest Minds was surprisingly great!)
I'm currently reading White Cat by Holly Black . I just started so I don't know if she's going to make my favorite authors list.

I'm in my 40s but I still enjoy young adult novels. They keep me young and looking at the world through fresh eyes.

I enjoy a lot of the young adult books. Ellen Hopkins writes extraordinary stories in poetry. I also like Sarah Dessen a lot. David Levithan is one of my new favorites; I've been hoarding all his books from the library lately.

The Darkest Powers series are pretty good. Its mainly about these teens that have a special abilities Necromancer, witch, werewolf, ect. and start out with the main character Chloe being sent to a home for juvenile delinquents because no one would listen to her about her seeing ghosts. Turns out the other kids there all have some kind of specialness about them and the adults running the place aren't the good guys.
