i never search about the author information unless the book makes me interested.

I had believed for many years that Sidney Sheldon was a female...it was only when I saw his picture online that I realised my mistake :D

I will only look out for the author's name and his/her other books if I enjoy any one of their book. Otherwise it doesn't really matter to me.

yes I have had that happen before, however, I just don't take the time to do research on that person.

I do remember when I started reading "First to Die" that I was surprised how well James Patterson had captured all the female characters. I double checked the cover expecting to find a female co-author. ( He didn't on that book, but it was something he did often).
