I tried to read her books but I couldn't get past Queen of the Damned. I really enjoyed the movies but I find I don't really like her writing. Stories yes, writing no.

I bought 'Blackwood farm' but didn't get around to reading it and eventually wasn't that attracted to it anymore and gave it to a friend

I adore anne rice and her vampire chronicles. If you are looking for a change of pace though look into her Witches of Mayfair series. I find it a little darker but still a great series

I have always enjoyed her vampire books, though at times I have found her artisitc dramatic writing style to be mildly overbearing which is easily remedied by taking a break between books. I did really enjoy her werewolf book, The Wolf Gift, and am looking forward to reading the second one. Someday. So many books too little time.
Adventure...one part stupidty plus two parts perseverence....yeah, that's me!

I read Interview with the Vampire when in high school and enjoyed it, but I find her writing style somewhat difficult, as in not linear.

After I finish reading Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief (I needed a light read after finishing Shanghai Girls by Lisa See), I am going to read "Interview with a Vampire". I've been meaning to pick it up for about a year now but I've kind of been holding off for some unknown reason. I'll let you guys know what I think about it. :)

The only Anne Rice novels I have actually finished are The Lives of the Mayfair Witches
The Witching Hour (1990)
Lasher (1993)
Taltos (1994)

All three of these books were absolutely great! Looking forward to reading more of her work.

The variety of her works is impressive too. She moves in various guises from vampires to weird histories and extreme BDSM, quite bizarre.

I read the vampire series years ago, and enjoyed it for a time, but was spectacularly bored by the middle of The Queen of the Damned and never finished it. Haven't tried her others yet. I watched Interview because Brad Pitt was in it, and he was spectacular, as usual, but I really didn't care for the movie itself.

I think with the Beauty books she was just challenging her reader to dare

I absolutely love Anne Rice. I have read almost all books in the vampire chronicles and have also completed the Sleeping Beauty series. I think her writing is amazing. Every book is written in great detail, so much that you expect these characters and places to be truly real. I also admire how she has interwoven her own experiences into the novels. For example, the vampire chronicles have embedded into them her struggles with her religious beliefs. If read in order, you can see her journey and how her faith transformed. I think she is an outstanding author and I would really recommend her books.

I'm very excited for Prince Lestat too! I plan on rereading all the vampire chronicles before the new book comes out. Also, recently they have announced that movies will be made for The Tale of the Body Thief and Christ the Lord. So, even more things to be excited about! :D

I started reading interview with the vampire, but I couldn't finish it. It is possible that the reason I couldn't finish it was the same as the reason why it was such a great book. the sense of endlessness she produced in terms of the vampires' lives held a certain kind of intensity that I couldn't bring myself to grapple with. I respect it, but I can't say that I want to finish the novel either.
