I consider my favorite author to be Tolkien. I love all of his works. Another favorite is Dostoevsky, along with Edgar Allan Poe. Of course there are a hundred more I love as well; it's so hard to choose a favorite!

My very favorite author is Kristin Hannah. My favorite book of her's is Nightingale. She is such a talented author who makes her characters and stories come to life. I truly feel like I'm in their shoes and I feel what they feel. In one of her more recent books, The Women, I found myself down in the dumps as she made her characters endure one hardship after another. It was a little depressing, actually, but only a truly talented author can do that!

I’m always adding new favorite authors to my list, and have favorites in each genre, but my all time favorite is Neil Gaiman. I couldn’t pick a favorite book by him, it would be like picking a favorite child.

Two of my favorites are Kristen Hannah and Heather Webber.
I love their style of writing, as they give me southern vibes. Though I've read only a few books from each of them, they seem to write about personal growth between mostly female characters. Kristen Hannah seems to write more about heartbreak and trauma filled situations that even I can relate to.

I have a growing list of favorite authors, each bringing something special to the table. But what consistently pulls me in is a well-written romance mixed with flawed, sometimes twisted characters who defy conventional norms. There’s something deeply engaging about characters who aren’t perfect—they’re raw, complex, and feel real. These aren’t cookie-cutter heroes or heroines; they’re individuals with pasts, scars, and secrets that make them all the more captivating.

Authors who nail this balance is Jennifer .L. Armentrout 'Convenant & Lux Series' as well as Christine Feehan's 'Dark Series'. They're stories are set in fantasy worlds where sultry romance, adventure, and intrigue blend seamlessly. Ruby Dixon's 'Barbarian Series' and J.R. Ward's 'Black Dagger Brotherhood Series' that has this ability to create wild, adventurous settings where love feels intense and daring, yet it’s her characters—the ones who are perfectly imperfect—that keep me hooked. They make me root for them, even when they’re at their lowest, struggling against inner darkness or challenges thrown by the fantastical worlds.

I have several authors I really enjoy. Depending on the genre of book I want to read. But I have to say my favorite is V.C. Andrews. Her books are incredibly entertaining. I've read several series and I plan to read every single one of her books. She does have similar themes to her books, which usually involve taboo topics like incest, having children out of wedlock, etc. I have never found another author like her. Her unique style of writing has kept me entertained for years.

For me, the current favorite is Brandon Sanderson. I realize he's a rising star in fantasy and it's kind of "bandwagony" of me to list him as a favorite, but it's also true. His storytelling style and the details he chooses to focus on just really resonate with me. I've read most every book he's ever written and loved every one of them.

I would have to say Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie as evidenced by the number of her books (hard copies) that I own. Her novels and books are interesting, thought provoking and relatable.
John Grisham and Sidney Sheldon write mean crime stories which hold my interest from start to finish. I got to love Sidney Sheldon's books from my early teens mainly as he was the master of creating surprising twists in his novels. Eg in Master of the Game.
John Grisham always have a great flow in his novels which usually centres around the American courts and legal systems, and I am always fascinated how he manages to tie seemingly unrelated incidences to the whole story.
I also love Penny Vincenzi's novels which showcase her skills in weaving interesting, engaging and attention holding stories.

My favorite author has been from the third grade, and still remains among the most important in my life: Tamora Pierce. Unlike many young women in the US, I grew up believing that women were powerful and in charge and could do things not everyone expected them to achieve - I was a feminist from age 8, thanks to Alanna the Lioness. Tortall will forever be my favorite second home, and I still revisit the Wild Magic and Protector of the Small series annually. My poor copies of those books are worn and falling apart and even now, 25 years later, I still find new things to enjoy and understand in each reread.

My favorite author in fiction is Vince flynn, i have read every single one of his books, and have continued to read the ones by Kyle Mills who took over when Vince Flynn passed away.

He has created an absolutely stellar character in Mitch Rapp, somebody who you end up cheering for and share his sadness during his personal losses. Vince Flynn writes about the world of spies and assassins as a voice of authority, and the accuracy in which he writes about them drew me to him in the first place long long ago.

This one is tough! I have Rick Riordan and Laura Gallego García, which are both my favorites authors growing up. Whenever I see one of their books I feel so happy inside because they remind me of growing up devouring their books. More recently I discovered Holly Black and Olivie Blake, I think they are both really talented authors and their main book sagas have quickly become my favorites for sure!! If I had to choose only one though I think I would go with Holly, I really love the universe she has created of "The Folk of the Air" and I can't wait for the rumored book she is going to release about Cardan and Jude!! All of them are great though and I really recommend them!!

[bco=][/bco]One of my favorite authors is Joyce Maynard, who has been writing for over fifty years. I have read at least fifteen of her books and really admire her versatility. She rights both fiction and memoir, and is excellent at painting vivid landscapes and expressing feelings eloquently. My favorite book of hers is probably “The Best of Us,”which is her memoir about her marriage to her second husband, Jim, and his battle with pancreatic cancer. That book grabbed me by the heart and will never let me go. Her books just seem to keep getting better and better. Recently, I have loved “The Bird Hotel,” Count the Ways,” and the sequel to it, “How the Light Gets In.”

I also greatly admire Joyce as a person. At 71 she gets up at 5:00a.m. most mornings when she is writing and often writes all day. She has the passion and energy of a much younger woman, and travels internationally for book release events on (what seems to me) to be a totally unrealistically rigorous schedule. She devotes considerable time leading writing retreats at her property in Guatemala. She has recently added Spanish immersion workshops, and workshops for mothers who are estranged from a child.Lastly, I love that she lives her life as a mostly-open book and posts about what she is doing several times per week on Facebook. She values transparency and showed amazing vulnerability by talking about getting a face lift recently.

Personally, I have come to favorite Brené Brown. I think she writes deeply motivating and moving reads. If I had to choose one, I enjoyed the most, I would choose her book Daring Greatly. It was the first book I was gifted by her that came from my mother. I especially enjoy her TED talks as well. I think she's an amazing author who motivates others in their personal lives to grow as a person and live better lives.

George Orwell has special place in my heart. His novel 1984 will never get old with respect to age and relevance in times to go. George Orwell was genius.
