Hey, I have been away from internet for a couple of weeks. Was going to let y'all know that Dee Henderson has two new books out. They look really good. One is called Unspoken and the other is Full Disclosure. Looking forward to reading both. ;)

Hi, good to hear from you again. Hope everything's ok.

I will definitely be getting those two new Dee Henderson's. I really like her books.

Right now I'm working my way through, believe it or not, the Left Behind series for about the 3rd or 4th time. I'm half way through Nicolae. (Borrowing them from my library)

Thanks again for the tip on the new books.

Christian fiction's not really my bag, so I've never gone out of my way to read it. I've occasionally read authors known for their Christian sensibility, such as C. S. Lewis and G. K. Chesterton.

As a departure from the "regular" Christian fiction you could try Walter Wangerin Jr.'s novel The Book of the Dun Cow. It's a sort of religious fable starring animals, including Chaunticleer the Rooster.

FYI: Wangerin has won a National Book Award.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will look into that.

C S Lewis had some great books, both fiction and non-fiction (I never actually read anything by G K Chesterton so maybe I'll check those out too).

But there are some really good authors of Christian fiction that are writing and publishing now; you should really try reading some of the authors mentioned here. I think you might find something you like.

I appreciate the encouragement, but my agnosticism sees fit to rain on that genre parade.

I did check out your suggestion and I'm definitely getting that book.

The reviews say it's alot like Animal Farm and Watership Down and I liked both of them. I read the preview and really wanted to get the book right away but I'm reading a series right now and want to finish that first.

Thanks again for the suggestion and if you think of anything else, please feel free to suggest something!

My top Christian author is Daniel Chiera, the book is Where Angels Play. He gives birth to a new genre Sci-Fi Theology. His book is character based, with modern day characters who dream of an ancient past and the offsprings of fallen angels. One chapter your in the present with characters describing there dreams and other characters solving histories mysteries and in another chapter your a witness to the so-called ancient gods and there way of life. Those being the offsprings of the fallen angels. By fallen angels I do not mean those that fell with Satan but the 200 led by an angel called Semjaza teaching man war, agriculture, the stars and much more. If you are a reader that can keep up with a barrage of information and characters you might enjoy. His second book Cursed Bloodlines is as good as the first.

I would recommend a series called the "Grace Chapel Inn", it's actually about three sisters and their adventures attempting to run a new B&B. The interesting thing about this series is that multiple authors have written titles in the series. I felt that it kept them fresh and interesting. I've read all of the one I could get my hands on.

Um, I am not a Christian and I don't read fiction but my cousin has been published in that genre and has written a series I might suggest...his name is Kurt Sivilich.

I would have to say Erynn Mangum. Her books have Christian aspects (Bible study, church, prayer, etc) but they do not overwhelm the stories. In fact, they kind of add to the simple, light, humorous tones that her novels are known for. Also, if you are someone who likes realistic quirky characters she has several that are fantastic to model after.

I recently got into Christian fiction and was amazed that I could read a book that had a theme that kept true to what a Christian can go through and still persevere. I read the "Revelations" theme books and was hooked. I then went to the self help books by leaders such as TD Jakes, Joel Osteen and D. McClurken to name a few. I then stumbled on the fictions that told of the temptations for the faithful and those just trying to do the right thing. I am loving this new experience and have begun to stock my shelves and my library card with many. For each tradition fiction, I get I must get a Christian version as well. Enjoying my bookshelves.

Frederick Buechner, "Brendan." A historical novels set in Ireland in the 800s, about saint Brendan.

The Book of the Dun Cow. Can't remember the author, he's the same one who wrote Ragman.

Karen Kingsbury is my all time favorite Christian author when I want a good cry. G.K. Chesterton has already been mentioned, but he deserves everyone having read at least some of his works. Dee Henderson and Terri Blackstock have also already been said, but they also get my votes.
