I recommend Larissa Ione and Sherrilyn Kenyon a lot. All their stories have an imaginative basic plot, and the characters are so likable even when they're not supposed to be, that's just how good these authors are. They make use of their writing tools, and never seem to make their stories stagnant or get stuck with filler chapters. Funny dialogues, engaging fighting scenes and a whole lotta plot twists.

I’ve started recommending Joyce Carol Oates to anyone who will listen, she’s just magnificent, one of those writers who will appeal to literary and genre readers alike.

Brandon Sanderson stole my heart a couple years ago, and I've read almost his entire catalog since then... I NEED MORE AT ALL TIMES!

Bandersnatch wrote: 04 Jan 2017, 11:39 Brandon Sanderson is a great writer. He always manages to come up with these completely different magic systems and they're always interesting. His characters and worldbuilding are also great. So far haven't read a book of his that I disliked.
I agree! I love his work!

I might be a kid at heart, but Lemony Snicket and C.S. Lewis are timeless! I recommend them often.

I consistently recommend books by Anthony Horowitz. His Alex Rider series is a good series for anyone desiring a sense of adventure. It is a great series for young adults. His descriptive writing style makes you feel as if you are a part of the action.

I'm always recommending Patrick Rothfuss, Dean Koontz, and Stephen King. All three have such strong voices through storytelling and are absolute masters at sucking a reader into their world.
