I prefer YA over adult books as well. However, I do read some adult (so long as there aren't heavily detailed sex scenes). My favorite YA authors would be Libba Bray, Karen Ann Hopkins and Michelle Zink. I've read all their work. :)

Yes I love them! It may not be to everyone's taste but when such YA books have a great story connected with a wonderful sophisticated writing style... I just can't resist! I would also love to work with them any way I can.

I read more Young Adult books than anything else. The authors can tell great stories without bringing in horrid language or over the top adult situations. My favorite authors are Eoin Colfer, John Flannagan, and Rick Riordan.

I also enjoy YA; however, I'm a little confused with people saying YA books are free from adult content. Many YA novels are, but there are plenty out there that address controversial topics, difficult situations, have adult language, and sex scenes.

My most recent reads have been YA:

I just finished 'Cress' by Marissa Meyer (the third book in the Lunar Chronicles). I love these books. Meyer does her own spin of well known fairy tales. I will admit I was very skeptical of a cyborg Cinderella story, but I'm glad I gave them a try.

And I'm currently reading Laini Taylor's 'Dreams of Gods and Monsters,' which is the third book in the 'Daughter of Smoke and Bone' trilogy. Taylor tells a fantastic story using beautiful details, without overdoing it. I've really enjoyed the series.

I enjoy books from all age groups. Even juvenile fiction.
You can find a good story anywhere.
I don't understand the stigma of an adult reading ya/na/juvenile fiction.
How many adults read, and enjoyed, Harry Potter?
Why should it be different just because they made a movie out of it?
The only way you're "too old" for any book is if you yourself decides you are.

John Green is, in my opinion, The Best Young Adult author out there right now. unlike some young adult books, John Green really gets you interested and takes you on a wild ride full of laughter and tragedy in his books, that adults can also enjoy. I strongly recommend John Green books to anybody looking for a fantastic young adult book.

I think I would stick to reading Young adult books for the rest of my life, its got so much creativity inside and I really can't see myself reading other books that doesn't have this genre in it.

My favorite author so far is Cassandra Clare, Julie Kagawa, Michael Scott, and Rick Riordan.

I like how YA novels aren't contained to just one subject, so there definitely is more variety and more creative situations that I love reading about. Some aren't perfect though. Some situations and relationships happen way too quickly for me. I still prefer to read YA novels over a lot of other books out there.

I love YA novels. I think many of them are written as well as or better than many adult novels. I'm a librarian, and I'm well above the target age of the genre, but I think they're important works, especially for the intended audience. Some of my favorite YA authors include Meg Cabot (humorous chick lit), David Levithan (LGBT issues), Rick Riordan (Fantasy), and Jay Asher (coming of age). Are there any particular genres you enjoy?

oh my goodness! I love teen, YA books. I started reading them when I was ten and have never stopped it toke me a long time to enjoy adult books because the pace of YA suits me so well. I however have an issue with many YA novels these days. I feel like some get too graphic for the intended audience and it actually detracts from the story for me, even with Meg Cabot; I stopped reading her books when I read one that instead of focusing on some of the plot that I felt cold have been developed more she wrote about physical interaction between her main characters. Anyone else run into their favorite others doing that?

Has anyone read Alex London?
I want to try Proxy but thought I'd ask opinions first.
