I have just read ASOIAF series and Fire & Blood... and you're right, maybe I should just read the whole thing again???? Why not, he's clearly not got TWOW very high on his priority list. Perhaps instead of waiting for the next book, I should be checking out his other works. Perhaps I will have less anxiety that way, than standing on my toes waiting for ASOIAF to finish....Nym182 wrote: ↑09 Aug 2019, 10:06 I love Martin! I have read ASOFAI series at least 6 times and am gearing up for the 7th, been wanting to read it again after the show finished up to see how much it would effect it had on the books... maybe glean out a few more instances of foreshadowing... I also really liked "Fire and Blood" and can't wait for the second vol. The Dunk and Egg stories kinda missed their mark for me since there were a lot of Aegons in it and it was hard to keep track of who was who... but i can't wait to finally read some more of him... I've got quite a few of his books in my TBR pile.

Thanks for your comment, you bring up a good point!!! Robert as Henry VIII... wow.... let me go think about that in my reading corner.Moodykelz_10 wrote: ↑22 Aug 2019, 16:28 George is an unquestionably amazing author. The way he grabs history from parts and put little bits into game of thrones. It's honestly perfect. Take Robert Barathon, he is so like Henry the 8th. The wall..... Adrian's wall. It's honestly so smart. However lately his ego has got in the way of his writing. It's lacked a little. His new short story collection just wasn't the best. I mean I felt unfulfilled.

I would definitely recommend it! That series is one of the best ones to reread since you will always pick up more and more foreshadowing and detail. I'm actually gearing up to go through it again in a couple of weeks when I leave for my honeymoon... plus it should line up that I'll be starting A Clash of Kings when the illustrated version comes out. I haven't read any of his non-ASOFAI books, but i have a few in my TBR pile (which never seems to get any smaller somehow ha) I have Wild Aces (which I wanted to read before the series comes out) Fevre Dream and a couple anthologies with him in it.Sinclairess wrote: ↑04 Sep 2019, 14:36I have just read ASOIAF series and Fire & Blood... and you're right, maybe I should just read the whole thing again???? Part of me wants to shake him and have him give us TWOW like yesterday, but i also want to make sure it's good... I guess we are at his mercy (and if there is one thing Martin is known for, it's his mercy right?

I love the worlds he has created in this series. When reading these books you can vividly see the places and people. You get to know the main characters so well you can almost guess what they will do next and how they'll react....not that you'll get it right every time! So many of these characters I have absolutely fallen in love with! There are equally as many that drive me bonkers though too! Like Sansa! However, in the later books, she kind of becomes cool.
Keep on reading! You won't be disappointed!
