I always recommend people to read the works of John Kennedy Toole. Albeit there are only two of them, which in my opinion is a great tragedy, both are masterpieces in their own right.

She is one of my favorite authors too.I loved the Lux series. I love reading books written by Richelle Mead and Becca Fitzpatrick.

Naomi Novik has a great writing style and a brilliant alternative history fantasy series, complete with dragons. Can't go wrong! :)

If you are a tad bit older and I mean no offense but like 22+ I would recommend Franz Kafka, Oscar Wilde and Garcia Marquez's 100 years of solitude.

Agatha Christie--she has a way of engulfing you in the worlds she creates whether you're the mystery type or not.

I always recommend Jordan Silver and Erin Trejo! Jordan Silver's books all have bad a** alphas in them and are sexually explicit. I have not found a book of hers that I haven't liked. Erin Trejo's books that I have read are very emotional and angsty. I also like Krystal White's series. They are serials and I usually don't read those, but hers are fast paced with no unneeded story.

Nicholas Sparks, he writes in an easy to read way. I also love reading the books then watching the movies when they come out. I love the love stories in them because they are not over the top.

I have always been a Stephen king fan, even seen his house in Maine. It was cool but I can never have a favorite because there is so much to read too many new authors to pick just one.

I always recommend Joyce Carol Oates. She has got to be in my opinion one of the most intriguing authors I've read. And trust me I've read many authors. It's hard to pinpoint what genre to identify her under. I've yet to be disappointed by her stories. She has moved me to tears many times and that is no easy feat. Anyway yes I highly recommend Joyce Carol Oates.

Terry Pratchett. I have yet to read anything bad by him. His disc world series is simply amazing. I'm getting excited just writing about it lol.

Still Ted Dekker; and now his daughter, Rachelle is writing books too! Exciting! :)
