I really like JK Rowling. Her extreme creativity and allowing others to escape to different places and fantasy worlds makes her writing really special

I am big on Beverly Lewis and Wanda Brunstetter with adding marta perry and Suzanne woods fisher in later. I love the amish books and how they give insite on thought of god and meaning of things in different ways. Plus i am just intrigued by the amish anyway. Sometimes wondering what it would be like to live with them for a week.

My recently discovered and favorite author right now, is Chris Carter. His books are in the crime genre with a touch of horror and psychological mind-games. His books about Detective Robert Hunter and the grotesque murders he has to investigate are real page-turners.

I hate to be cliché along with all the other teen girls raving, but John Green. He takes on the mind of a teenager you can relate to. However, he manages to stay on a level of sophistication, and sneak in a life lesson if you pay attention close enough.

I have read so many great books by so many great authors but my top two favorites are always going to be J.K.Rowling and Cassandra Clare. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone got me back into reading and I totally fell in love with not only the characters but the entire world. Same goes for Clare and her Shadowhunter world. Both are so real and written with so much emotion and I look forward to any and all books by these two authors.

One of the best pieces of advice I ever got when training to be a personal trainer was ‘always make time to exercise yourself - it’s your job to be fit.’ And I think that’s the same for writers, you should always try to make the time to read. However, that’s sometimes easier said than done, and my new year’s resolution this year is to read more! But when I do get the chance I read very much within my own genre – Marian Keyes, Sophie Kinsella, I particularly admire Cecelia Ahern’s vivid imagination in her later books. She’s not afraid to try something different than books about shopping, fashion and shoes! My writing hero however is not an author, but a script writer – Richard Curtis. He even has a small cameo part in my novel!

A personal favorite author of mine is Dawn Cook. She also goes by Kim Harrison, but I prefer her Dawn Cook books. One of the best series is the Decoy Princess couplet. The author really pulls you into Tess' world without going into too much detail that you have a hard time keeping up with the action. I've noticed it is the same way with most of the books she has written. Good amount of detail, without being too much. She is really good at developing her characters so that they feel like someone you could easily have run into on the street, rather than in just a book. This is why, Dawn Cook is one of my favorite authors.

I have a few.

As far as classic authors, I love Edgar Allan Poe. I've read all his poetry, short stories, and even his one novel.

As for modern authors: Philippa Gregory, Allison Weir, and JK Rowling.
