Hemingway or Poe just to kick back and pick their minds a little. Oh and George RR Martin might be fun

I know it probably sounds cliche, but I would love to have a beer with Stephen King, or his son who is now also writing.

An author that has a book in the genre of sports/recreation such as James Quinn. I would ask him about the publishing process. Would the approach I have taken in the book I have written due for release in early 2016 have any interest to turf enthusiasts? Money management versus handicapping in a 9:1 ratio. What would he consider an acceptable return on investment (ROI)? What is his experience regarding purchase of books in this genre is another question I would direct at him? Any feedback he would offer would be welcome.

Terry Pratchett, no question! I have spent so many hours lost in his eccentric worlds. His book are the very essence of what fantasy novels -in my mind- should be; both a shelter from the real world and also a lens through which one can safely view the injustices real situations. In other words, the late, beloved Sir Terry would be great for a light-hearted yarn or a philosophical discussion. R.I.P. Wossname

It would have to be a toss up between Sydney Sheldon and James Rollins.

Sydeny Sheldon because even though there are no new books of his to read, every time I reread one, I find more things I missed. Each story has so many substories that I never get bored, and I would be willing to bet he would be that charismatic in person.

James Rollins because, REALLY?!? I would like to know how anyone thinks about that much obscurity so much that they can write hundreds of pages of stories and at the end, I am so caught up, I start to question the same things!

I saw Douglas Adams mentioned which would be pretty rad. I enjoy his sense of humor.

Currently I'm on a Brene Brown kick. She writes non-fiction and talks about her personal life some and seems super cool. My researcher side would want to get a beer to pick her brain but then I'd also want to get a beer just to hang out because we have some similar interests :)

Most of my choices are actually no longer alive. Maybe that says a lot about me

My top choices would definitely have to include:
Dylan Thomas.
Charlotte Bronte.
Shakespeare.
Bukowski.

Stephen King. I think he has great ideas and wouldn't be at a loss for talk. I would also have to include his son Joe Hill. His twitter posts tend to be rather hilarious at times.
Hemingway.... I would just love to hang out with him and all those cats :)

I would have to say that I would love to sit and have a shot or several with Stephen King and Edgar Allen Poe. I think that would be a very interesting night to have both of them together and having shots. :)
