Is Garth Nix purely a teenage author? I read his abhorsen series and felt it was a strong story with depth, but his more recent work has been lacking and really not at the same level. Has he announced plans for further books?

I don't know if he is writing any new one but that would be awesome. Thats if they are the same caliber as Abhorsen series.

I read his Mister Monday series to my class and although they were aimed at teenagers, I did really enjoy them as well. They're good stories.

I think that his books are far more complex than he gets credit for. His Keys to the Kingdom series had some very dark themes and as an older reader I think I appreciated it more. Also, I would never describe Shade's Children as a children's novel.

Oh and for anyone who hasn't tried them his Tower series is absolutely magical.

I really like everything he's done. Keys to the Kingdom got really disturbing at times and Shade's Children was pretty horrific on both a visceral and on a philosophical level. I've never really thought his work lacked depth.
