Markus Zusak

Has anybody read some Markus Zusak?
I read his book 'The Book Thief' and I absolutely loved it, I then went on to read his short book 'The Messenger'.
I was wondering what everybody thought of him?
As I think his writing style/techniques are just amazing and it is such a waste he has only produced 5 books without major recognition. :(
