Anyone else a big fan?

I started more recently with American Gods, then moved on to Good Omens which he co-wrote with Terry Pratchett. Both were excellent. I have also read Anansi Boys, which was in a similar tone to American Gods but far more strange.
All said I've never read something by Gaiman that I didn't thoroughly enjoy.

But the funny thing is that Neil is one of the few authors that I've ever actually met.
It was at a Science Fiction Convention in Brighton UK in 1997.
He had given a little talk and was relaxing in the car,
happy to talk to whoever was around.
What a nice man!

Wow! That's awesome! I've heard that he's a really nice, genuine person…I would love to get the chance to meet him, that would be so cool!MikeScantlebury wrote:I think he's a good author.

Shouldn't we be talking about 'loving Neil Gaiman's work' ?
Instead, we talk about 'loving' the man, and, as the person above says, 'like him so far'.
Him?
You don't know him!
He might be cruel to cats.
He might be avoiding paying tax.
Let's get it right: LOVE the books, respect the author. Not LOVE the author and be devoted to the books, please.

Quote "Well meaning adults can easily destroy a child's love of reading - do not discourage children from reading because you feel they're reading the wrong thing. There is no such thing as the wrong thing to be reading and no bad fiction for kids." Neil Gaiman.

I love the way he makes the fantastic sound so normal that it turns everything upside down, and all of the books I've read by him have been the type to really stick in my mind for a while afterwards.

Stardust is my personal favourite but I also really love his collaboration with the incredible Terry Pratchett for Good Omens. Two of the finest fantasy writers in the world together - if you love either one it's unmissable.
