I love Tamora Pierces books! Any other author suggestions?

While on bed rest I discovered Tamora Pierce. I know she writes for a "young adult" audience but I absolutely love her work!! 
Now that I am finished with Mastiff (the last book in the Becka Cooper series) I am actually kind of sad. This means I have officially read all of her pieces.... I just love how emotionally connected I get to the charectors and I also enjoy that she makes the women so strong and such an important piece of the story! Does anyone have any author, series or book suggestions for me?
