I must say Veronica Roth is definitely quickly becoming one of my idols, at 25 years old she has 3 best sellers and one book turning into a movie. Wow just wow. Tell me what you think about her, her writing style or anything!

I read that series last month because my girl friend told me I should. I'm usually not into romances, so when I read through and realized that wasn't the main focus of the novel I read on. The first book was pretty cool. The second was fine too, but the third seemed as if Roth didn't have a strong voice for the dual POV's. Tris and Four's thoughts sounded more like Tris's thoughts with a different name, and I think she should have explored that a little more.

*SPOILER FOR ANYONE WHO HASN'T READ* Plus it was kind of obvious that Tris was going to die because of the POV's in the last book. So I didn't feel shocked, and the way she wrote it out made it seem a bit rushed, like she basically wrote "and Tris is dead, moving on." I felt bad that I didn't feel bad that Tris died. *END SPOILER*

The last book seemed like Roth wanted to prove something, but the result was rushed and not everything was fully explained. Most of what happened in the last book was filled with plot holes, like when a character did something, I kept thinking 'why didn't she just do this to do that, instead of doing all that, since Roth wrote about this and it seemed more logical to do that?' and etc. But the factions were absolutely pointless after reading why they were made in the third book, and how the entire series was resolved.

Her first two books are good though.

I loved Divergent but the other 2 books were pretty boring and the trilogy had a really unsatisfying ending. I guess Tris was supposed to be some sort of martyr, but I was pretty tired of her by the end anyway.

I've only read Divergent. Still working though other books. I really enjoyed it though. It reminds me of that old series The Wind Singer I read when I was younger.

I loved the first book and thought it was great. I just finished Insurgent (Divergent, #2) and liked it, but it was less good than the first book. After reading some negatives reviews about Allegiant (Divergent #3), I decided not to read it.

So far I have only read the first book and enjoyed it for the most part. It wasn't amazing but it was worth reading. I'm sure I'll end up finishing the series just to know what happens but from the reviews I've seen I shouldn't expect to be wowed.

I really enjoyed Divergent but have heard not so great reviews about the other two books. Makes me feel like Divergent would have been better as a stand alone book.

I sincerely enjoyed Divergent. It was suspenseful with a bit of romance. I didn't want to put the book down once I started reading it. As soon as I finished Divergent, I ran off to the book store to buy Insurgent and Allegiant. Insurgent was another good read. When I got to Allegiant I was thrown off. The author changed from one point of view to the point of view of two of the characters. I kept starting a page and realizing that I was thinking about it from the wrong characters perspective and I had to re-read that section again. I didn't understand why she decided to change that for the last book it really bothered me. I wish she would have kept it the same way as the first two. I have not read the books from the perspective of Four because I was a bit turned off by Allegiant.

I really enjoyed the trilogy, except for the last book. I feel like Veronica Roth, instead of writing an ending that was unique and different, succumbed to the new trend of simply killing off a favorite character. I was very disappointed, and while I'm fine with characters dying, I didn't feel like it was anything unpredictable. Aside from Tris dying, I thought the trilogy was overall very exciting and kept my attention. Also, I think writing stories from Four's point of view was a mistake and just a way to prolong Divergent's moment of popularity. Criticisms aside, Veronica Roth is a very good author that I would recommend to read.

Roth's first two novels in the series, Divergent and Insurgent, were dystopian page turners in the avenue of Hunger Games. I have yet to read the third novel, as I am waiting for my 14 year old to finish. It is the thoughts of the first person charachter, Tris, that keeps the books fast pace and it's adolescent identity fantasy that resounds even 20 years removed from that important stage of life.
