For me, a good writer can carry a story even when the plot doesn't. If a writer has a unique voice, then I'm easily hooked.

I'm open to anything that excites me. However, an ability to connect with the deepest emotions, thoughts, fears e.t.c really appeal to me. I also like relatability.

There are many things that draw me to an author. Superficially, it is the usual things like a good storyline and writing style. On a deeper level however, I am drawn to an author who cares about their audience. If they put themselves in the books that they write, as I read, I learn about the author as well. How an author views their audience comes out in the writing. If the writing is cold and unfeeling, I am less likely to read it. If the writing is warm and inviting, I can't wait to read more of the author's work.

The storyline. The ability to tell a story in a compelling and yet very simple way.

The writing style is what draws me to an author. Anyone can tell a story but it takes a good author to tell it in a way that will leave an impact on the reader.

If an author writes characters that people can associate themselves with, it will be the magical hook that draws readers. Every individual develops their love for reading based on their unique life experiences. So deciding on everyone's favorite author is hardly possible.

Well, I need to relate to whatever I am reading in one way or another. If an author narrates a story in ways that mirror human nature in its complexity, I feel drawn to them. Authors who can show multi-faceted perspectives rather than creating a binary opposition in their narratives are much welcome.

There are particular genres i prefer reading, but i branch out to different things every once in a while. The way the author plots out the story and characters is helpful for me to know if will be an 'easy read' for the next one.

I am drawn to an author’s writing style. I like to find a flow and rhythm to the words as I read, like a cadence! I also am drawn to true stories written by the people who lived the experience.

What draws me to an author is their ability to make me feel emotions. Irrespective of the genre if the writing makes me cry I love the book.

I get drawn to an author when he/she gives what I want to happen in a story. That's where we get along😅

I'm drawn to a book naturally first through the descriptions or summary then when I discover an author who has an amazing way with words and innovative writing I continue to read their work until I run out of material. Afterward, I have to rely on similar writer suggestions, until I am drawn in again.
