Ruta Sepetys is an American author of Lithuanian origin. She writes historical fiction mostly about European history. I believe the most popular is Between the shades of grey. We even got a movie in Lithuania based on that book because it tells about Lithuania's occupation by the Soviet Union. However, I do find it least interesting of all. My favorites have to be The Fountain of Silence and Salt to the Sea.
