I am so guilty of this! It can be hard if the author only has one book or does not have a very catchy name. I agree to some extent about only remembering the bad ones! But I think an example like Nora Roberts is easy to remember because she's just written so many books!

Yes I have always been guilty of this before. Sometimes when I want to go back to reading their books again I can't because I can't remember the author. It get's frustrating.

To be quite honest, I never notice the authors. I would notice, though, if I read their style of writing again, that the same person wrote it.

I am so glad I have found by people! :) I am so guilty it is not funny. I think its one of the main reason I use GoodReads so much as I am talking to a friend about a book I pull it up on my phone.

Unless they are an author whose books I have read a lot of, I won't remember their names. I will Google it but off the top of my head, nope. I don't feel guilty about it though. I just feel disappointed that my memory isn't as good as I want it to be.

Many of the books I read are romances that don't really have any impact, so I rarely remember those authors. It would have to be really phenomenal. I generally remember the authors of books that have a lot of depth to them.

I also have a sort of hard time remembering author's names. Even some titles I cannot remember. Sometimes I also mix and match author's with the wrong title or get half the author's name right. I just cannot remember all that information!

If I enjoy the book, then a lot of the time I can remember the name of the author. It also helps me if they have more than one book. I have been guilty of forgetting the names of authors before though. It bugs me the most when i am enjoying the book and want to recommend it to someone, and then I can't remember the name of the author.

I normally pick books of my favorite authors. For unfamiliar authors, I usually don't remember them especially if their books do not impress me.

After reading through these posts I am so glad I'm not alone in this. When it happens to me it feels just like what happens after meeting a new person. I forget the name and then I can't stop thinking about it until I remember. I try now to remember both title and author together at the same time.
