Icon Jim Butcher or Kevin Hearn, anyone?

Post by firecat88 »

One of my favorite genres is that of urban fantasy. The two series in particular that I've been loving more than any others are Jim Butcher's Dresden Files and Kevin Hearn's Iron Druid Chronicles. What can I say? I'm a sucker for smartass protags and their equally smartass companions.

I love them both :)

Have you tried Seanan McGuire?

What is grief, if not love persevering?

Grief is just love with no place to go.

No, but I've been meaning to. What's a good place to start?

I started with her October Date series (and highly recommend it), but if you're just looking to try her writing Every Heart a Doorway will give you a fair (and short) example.

But I will always recommend October first. She's got those companions you were talking about

I absolutely love the Iron Druid books and really like the Dresden series. I geeked out a few months ago when Kevin Hearne responded to one of my tweets!
