Vernor Vinge--Thoughts?

Hello!
One of my favorite authors is Vernor Vinge. I find him to be one of the most creative and detailed writers that I've come across. While he's won 5 Hugo awards, I rarely if ever find anyone else talking about him. So I just wanted to ask, have you read any of his works? What'd you think?
