I really liked the books Douglas Preston worte, especially with Lincoln Farchild, but that was until I read Blasphemy. I do not claim to be a literary expert by any stretch of the imagination, but even I know hog wash when I hear it. I regret to say that I can no longer bring myself to listen to any of his works again. As a christian we have to draw the line somewhere and I have done that with his work. It really does not matter if anyone agrees with me or not, but I had to get my opinion out there. Thank you for reading it. My original title was "Douglas Preston - what an idiot" and I changed it to " feel sorry for him". People with his views are because they do not understand. I appologize for the initial title. God bless.

Could you explain what you mean for those of us whom have not read it, what makes it so bad that it should be avoided?

I have this on my shelf, have not gotten to it yet. And as a fellow Christian, may I offer a differing view in that we have to be careful about "drawing lines." I personally try to read books that contradict my faith, partly because if my faith isn't strong enough to withstand debate, it's not worth anything, and partly because you can only be an effective Christian if you have an idea about what the other side is saying. The question is, is it challenging to Christianity, or just insulting and and petty in attempt to discredit it without any real rationale?
