Up and Coming Latina Author May Torres

Post by NY_bookworm »

I just can't stop gushing about the book Enchanted Island by May Torres. I'm 16 and just finished the book a few days ago. It was intended for young adults but I gave it to my mom and she loved it too! I'm getting ready to re-read the book with my friends, just waiting for their copies to arrive. I fell in love with the book (obsessed now) because the writer created such a connection for me with the characters. May Torres wrote a straight forward, no fluff, no lag, story. From the beginning you feel like you're in the story. I wrote the author and asked if she would do a follow up to Enchanted Island, and I was super surprised that she replied! I've been emailing back and forth with her and she seems so down to earth. (I hope it's really her I'm talking to lol) I read her bio on authorsden and feel like she's going to make it big, I at least hope so. If you're looking for an adventure filled with romance and friendship, you need to check this book out. It's my mission to get my school mates to read this. The author hails from New York, just like me. So Yay!

Lol, cool that you are in touch with the author. You have described it so well that I feel like reading it. But I guess it would take a while till it reaches our library so I will have to wait a while I guess.
