J.K. Rowling

Post by Terri2 »

What are your thoughts regarding J.K. Rowling, the auther of the Harry Potter series. Harry Potter fans seem to love her. She's rich. What do you think she's going to do after Harry Potter?

What else would she do but enjoy her success? She really developed something amazing with Harry Potter (of which I am a HUGE fan - the books, not the movies so much). By the way the new book 7 title was announced: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Creepy. I am looking forward to the midnight release party. As big a fan of the series as I am I hope she does not continue to write about him after book 7. The series should just end there. Perhaps write an epilouge. But that's all. I will miss it though. Great bit of writing.

I'm not a huge fan of the Harry Potter series, but I think that says more about me than it does about JK. ALl I want to say is props to Mrs. M on reading Hitchhiker's. One of my favorite book ever. Is it the complete guide, ie- all the books?

She'll probably spend time with her family. People don't give her enough credit. She started out with nothing and has created the great reputation she has on her own. It wasn't just some rich relative that got her started. Plus, she really is talented. I use to hate reading! Fortunately, I read THE SORCERER"S STONE in the sixth grade and I was hooked after the first line. She's changed my life. Now I enjoy reading and I want to be writer myself.

it's odd if you think about it....all she did was write a book...and now shes like the second richest person in Britian. I personally don't like Harry Potter books, but I think this lady is lucky alot of other people seem to.

and yea if shes not rolling around in her money she should give it to someone who will....like me.

Does anyone think there's a chance she will continue the Harry Potter series, even after the "last book"? I've heard that she said she wouldn't, but she's not under any contract not to.

Publishers probably will ask her to write more of them.

Of course, she probably has enough money already.

Personally, I believe she will be true to her word and this will indeed be the end of Harry's adventures. One thing is certain though, I can't wait to get my hands on the Deathly Hallows!!

Well, she probably will retire now, with that big project in Florida. Darn it, I feel like visiting the place myself.

She's going to enjoy her loads of money with her family and live a quiet and nice life. She will probably write again, not about Harry, and her new books won't as succesful but will sell lots of them anyway. She will dedicate herself to promote charity work.
Be nice to me! English is not my native language. :)

I know a lot of people are hoping that she does. A few of my friends and I were talking about it and we would like to see her do a book or two about when Lily and James were in school. We would also like to see a book or so about Harry's life after Hogwarts.

I think it might be better if she just starts with a whole new story and universe. It's better two have two fun series than one series.

I think she has now announced the intention to write a Potter Encyclopedia, perhaps to fill in some of those gaping, drive a knight bus through, plot holes from book 7....

I think it would be nice if she could move to a new character, but at the moment she seems to be a one trick pony. A very rich and successful one trick pony, but one none the less.

I hope she can move away from Potter and try her hand at something different. It would be a shame if she were just stuck with the one character all her career.

I personally think that now that she has a taste of the fame and money she can earn from writing books she won't stop. For instance, the popularity of the Harry Potter books started to go down hill so she comes out with the fact that a major character is homosexual. This in turn causes many die hard fans to read through the books again searching for clues and so bringing the "Potter Mania" back up to full height. She won't let herself become a nobody again.
