I have only read the girl with the dragon tattoo waiting to read the next 2 books. I thought it was well written i felt really engaged with the characters and it was defiantly a page turner.

Just finished the series. Very talented writer. When I finished the 3rd book I thought how sad it was that Blomkvist and Salander will not have any more adventures together (at least none written by SL). I hope Mr. Larsson's family have gained some comfort from his success.

i read all 3 books. generally i dont like detective series but blomkvitz`s adventures were really good. ussually first book of the serie is the best but in that case 2nd was better than 1st, and 3rd...masterpiece ;) and Lisbeth; i`ve finally found real tough girl of integrity character who i was looking for in literature for a long time in literature. no more plastic dull ladies ;)
P.S. sorry for my english ;) i`m new here

Brilliant ... read all 3 books & would fully agree 3rd one by far and away the best. Loved his characters and once I got familiar with the unusual names & places I really enjoyed them. The publisher should have included a map of Stockholm and maybe Sweden I felt as I'm not a million miles from Sweden but I still would be totally unfamiliar with the country.

Terrible pity he died (RIP) some more of Lisabeth's adventures would have been something to look forward to ... she really is a superb original creation.

Couldnt put it better Fran, i only got the 3 books on the advice of a friend and wasnt really bothered either way whether i read them or not but once i started the first book i knew this was something special- twinning an eccentric character like Salander with a laid back character like Blomkvist and setting it against such a fascinating backstory as the Vanger murder was pure genius and the books do get better as they go on and as Fran says i also thought the last was the best. R.I.P Larsson

Yeah steig larsson is the best author here's a quick review for everyone here "Karl Stig-Erland Larsson (15 August 1954 – 9 November 2004) was a Swedish journalist and writer, born in Skelleftehamn outside Skellefteå. He is best known for his authorship of the Millennium Trilogy of crime novels which were published posthumously.

He was the second best-selling author in the world in 2008, behind Afghan-American author Khaled Hosseini."

I've read the first two books in the series. I loved them! I will say that the first one was a bit hard to get into and stay with but once I was in, I was hooked. Some people say that a lot is lost with the translation. If so I must say I think I'm glad. They are brilliant books and any more I think and the book would be too jam packed and lose my interest. I can't wait for the 3rd!

Stieg Larsson is a very skillful and talented Swedish writer. I absolutely loved the Millennium series with Lisbeth Salander as the main character. I liked the way he wrote The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest.
