Wow that's broad. Well in my humble opinion, his absolute best is The Dark Tower series, followed closely by The Talisman.
His absolute worst is The Tommyknockers.
Insomnia could have been cut by 200 pages and still been a good book.
The Stand (original edition) is the first book that completely swallowed me - when I finished the book I sneezed and immediately had a panic attack that Captain Tripps had finally caught up with me. For real.
I'm reading Duma Key right now and it's a bit of a slog. Was given Under the Dome as a gift last year and am anxious to dive in.

I've read a few his books. Among them only one wasn't good, this one written under his pseudonym. He is really good author, but there is a thing in all his books, that I hate, it is, namely prolonging the plot. The real action begins in about half of the book.

I think Stephen King is a genius, and very under-rated just because he is mainly seen as a horror- writer. But he has some extraordinary books which , if would have been written by other known writers without any connection to horror-genre, would have been considered masterpieces of world-literature.

I used to be such a big fan, but his newer stuff has turned me away. Of the works that I did like, my favorite was The Girl Who Loved Tom Gorden. It really spooked me!!

I haven't read much King, just Carrie and The Shining, although I preferred the films. I remember reading a short story of his - can't recall the title - about this guy marooned on an island who, due to lack of food, resorted to cutting bits off himself and eating them. The story finished with him cutting off his hand and eating the fingers, I think?! I read it a long time ago although it stayed with me. I guess King has a knack for coming up with really gnarly stuff like that.
