I have a tie :)
Dostoievski will always be number one!
But I also like Stephen King, he is absolutely brilliant.
And the latest entry on the list is Brandon Sanderson, he is an amazing fantasy writer.

Wow, how to pick? I have many favorite authors for many different reasons, but among my favorites would be Stephen King, JK Rowling, Margaret Atwood, John Grisham, and many of the classic authors. The ability to create new worlds by arranging words on a page is magical :)

Maybe it's a bit cliche, but Stephen King. His works have always had such a strong ability to pull me into their worlds. And the sheer amount of connections his works have to each other is something I find utterly amazing. I've been reading him for 20 years, and he is still one of the few authors that I will happily re-read from. There's only like four of those haha. He gets typecast as horror. But really in many of his stories they aren't about the horror at all. The horror is just the catalyst that lets you see what he is doing with the characters and their dynamics. He has a lesser known book called The Eyes of the Dragon. Find it and read it if you havent. It's darkly funny and fantasy.

Stephen King, hands down. He doesn't get nearly enough credit for his writing brilliance since people usually fixate on his subject. I've read all of his books, and hope to read many more in the future.

This is historical. Any current artifacts?

How about Pamela Porter? At this moment I am reading The Crazy Man and I am loving her writing style: poetic, figurative, implying, and brief but full of possibilities.

My favorite author right now is Kristen Hannah. The Nightingale just absolutely drew me in to all of her books and I have not been disappointed at all.
Another good writer is Alix E. Harrow because I enjoyed her style of writing. She has such an understandable way of writing that drew me in as well.

My favorite author would always be Lauren Kate. Her fallen Series made me fall in love with reading at the age of 13. She pulled me in a world of wonder with her writing.

I am now 23 Years of age and had read many books but hers will always be my favorite.

I love so many authors, but my current favorites are Neal Shusterman for his thought-provoking, highly thought out worlds, and Victoria Aveyard for her splendid plot and the realistic way her characters respond to what they go through.
