Review of In Due Time
Losing oneself in a beautiful romance story is always a perfect way to end a day. This was my experience reading this book.
In Due Time by Annette G. Anders is a romance novel of a girl that struggles with unrequited love for a while, watching years roll past while in love with a guy that didn't seem to notice her.
Naomi has been in love with Revan, one of her oldest friends from her teenage years. Now in her thirties, she's tired of struggling to get him to notice her. When their friends choose both to be the best man and maid of honor, she is absolutely against it. She is, however, left with no choice but to work closely with him. She tries to deal with her emotions and hide the love she'd always felt for him. Revan had always had a commitment fear until he started noticing little details about Naomi and experiencing inappropriate thoughts about her. Not wanting to lose his long friendship with her, he attempts to fight it. With Naomi almost giving up hope and Revan struggling, they're looking doomed never to cross the line of friendship. Did they open up to each other?
I really enjoyed reading this book and found a lot of positive aspects in it. First, the book was written in a straightforward and enjoyable language, and it made reading it beautiful. Again, the book made a lot of references to historical places and locations; for instance, it mentioned The Magnolia Plantations, which has a lot of history and is the oldest public garden in America. It also mentioned The Tredegar Ironworks, a factory founded in 1837 and supplied about half of the artillery used by the Confederates State Army during the war. I found all these quite enlightening. Finally, this book was wonderfully edited, and I could find no errors in it. I think the author deserves commendation for this.
The only negative aspect I found in the book, though, was the conversations of the characters. They sometimes sounded too stilted for people who had been close friends for years.
I give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. I did not rate it lower because the negative aspects did not detract from the book, and I had an amazingly wonderful experience reading it.
I would recommend this book to anyone that loves romance books. If you are looking for a good and satisfying read, this book is for you.
